Well made and ethically sourced, a wobbel is a sturdy and beautifully crafted balance board, in the shape of a curve. It is designed based on the guiding principles of Waldorf education and have been in use for over 20 years. What do we love most about the wobbel is its multi-functionality and how it promotes movement and play indoors. Do you know that simply rocking on the wobbel engages both hemispheres of the brain, making it a calming and therapeutic activity for children (and adults)?
Even though my 2 year old is not yet able to navigate the original wobbel independently in a standing position, we had tons of fun with me assisting her, either holding her hands (from the outside) or getting in together with her on the wobbel.
The playtime on our wobbel develops core strength, coordination, sense of balance and body awareness in my toddler, so great for gross motor skills and parent child bonding. We also love how the wobbel provides a multitude of endless play possibilities - it can be used as a roof, bridge, tunnel/ vehicle tracks, a chair, a standing stool and wobbel yoga!
One caution about the Wobbel is to be careful about getting your fingers squashed underneath (I accidentally got mine squashed before and it was really painful!) Our original size wobbel is from Noah Toys and you can check out the collection on their website HERE !
